Who We Are

Canterfield was developed by noted Atlanta-based company Medical Development Corporation. The team’s goal was to use its respective strengths in senior healthcare and the hospitality and luxury housing industries to create a senior living continuum that offers unsurpassed services and amenities backed by quality care services. Canterfield is managed by Healthcare Management and Accounting Services.

Medical Development Corporation

Medical Development Corporation (“MDC”) specializes in the development and management of senior housing and healthcare products. The Atlanta-based company was established in 1990 and has been active in the long-term care and senior retirement housing sector for the last 18 years. Its founder and Principal, Winston A. Porter, MDC and its predecessor companies have developed close to 700 senior residential, assisted living and nursing home units with a valuation of approximately $80 million. Currently the company is affiliated, owns, and/or manages seven properties including Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinics in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida, all of which MDC was primary in their acquisition and development.

Healthcare Management and Accounting Services

Healthcare Management and Accounting Services is a firm that specializes in managing senior living residences. The company provides management oversight for communities in and around the Southeast. They are proud to be involved with Canterfield and are dedicated to providing residents with a gracious lifestyle within a continuum of care.

Our Directors


Katie Hrinda

Executive Director

Ms. Hrinda is a graduate of Georgia State University and she has spent several years working in the senior living industry. She joined The Villas at Canterfield in June 2014 as Business Manager. She was promoted to Executive Director in 2016 and continues to display her passion for our residents, staff, and family members. With her assistance, the Villas was named Business of the Year (Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce) and was voted the Best Senior Living Community in Forsyth County (Forsyth County News Readers) in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Tina Hrinda

Business Manager

Ms. Hrinda graduated from Georgia State University with a B.B.A in Marketing. Before joining The Villas at Canterfield in August 2016, she worked as a Physician Recruiter and as an Office Administrator. The VAC Team was clearly a very tight knit, dedicated, compassionate group, and Tina was overjoyed to become a part of it. She has loved getting to know the Senior Living Industry and getting the opportunity to connect with seniors on this level.

Connie Evonosky

Director of Community Relations

Connie Evonosky joined the Canterfield family in July of 2019 as a morning concierge. Shortly after starting her position, Connie was offered advancement as an Assistant to the Director of Community Relations. It was there that Connie was able to put her background in Apartment Management and Sales to use. When the position of Director of Community Relations opened, Connie was offered the position. Connie's enthusiasm for working closely with Seniors is evident in her guidance on their journey to finding their next new home. When not at work, Connie enjoys spending time with her family and 5 dogs.


Candace Bryant

Wellness Director

Mrs. Bryant obtained her LPN license from Lanier Technical College in 2013. Candace started off as the Assistance Wellness Director with the Villas in 2014 and has since been promoted to Wellness Director as of 2018. Candace enjoys working with the senior population and ensuring they are being provided with the best medical care possible.

Nelson Prince

Dining Services Director

Mr. Prince is a graduate from Johnson and Wales and has been working in the senior living industry since 2010. In June of 2017 he joined The Villas at Canterfield as Director of Dining Services. Nelson has a service heart for taking care of people. He holds a high standard, works to ensure all residents’ requests and suggestions are met, and that all dietary needs are in compliance.

Nildete "Nilly" Ferreira

Dining Services Director - Personal/Memory Care

Mrs. Ferreira was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Her mother owned a restaurant which is where Nilly began her passion for cooking. She’s been in the restaurant industry for 14 years, working with chefs from Virginia to Florida. Nilly joined our team at The Villas at Canterfield in 2015. She aims to please by cooking delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, has a heart of gold, and continues to grow as a leader in our community.


Amanda Burkett

Resident Care Coordinator

Ms.Burkett graduated from Lanier Tech in 2003 with a diploma in Master Cosmetology. Received her CNA in 2015 and did home health for two years. She has been with The Villas for 3 years, 2 years as an RCA and was promoted to Resident Care Coordinator in 2019. Amanda has a passion for working with seniors and making sure that the proper care is being performed for each resident.

Tod Haa

Director of Environmental Sciences - Assisted Living

Mr.Haa was brought to the Villas from Tennessee to help facilitate the grand opening. As we opened, he fell in love with the residents and the aspect of Senior Living. Tod has been here since 2012, the day the doors opened. He is loved and appreciated by all the residents for all the environmental needs.

Edward Beras

Maintenance - Independent Living

Edward Beras met this incredible team while purchasing his home through Habitat for Humanity. It was during that time that he met a co-worker, who offered him a job at the Villas. It’s hard to believe that was four years ago. He is so grateful for the opportunity and for this community. When he’s not working, he can be found at home with his wonderful wife and four beautiful children. He also enjoys fishing and is a wiz at bowling!


Diana Skiles

Activities Director - Assisted Living

Diana received her degree in Public Health from the University of South Carolina. Through her studies and personal and professional experiences, she has gained a strong passion for working with the senior population. She started working with seniors in 2014 as a private sitter. In 2018 she joined the Villas at Canterfield's team as the Activities Director. She loves her residents and enjoys providing them with fun and engaging social activities.

Carrie Saint-Martin

Activities Director - Independent Living

Carrie Lee Bass is the Activities Director for the independent senior resident community at “The Villas at Canterfield”. Her favorite and most accurate way to describe her job is “Each day is different!”. With a bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, and a love for exercise and nutrition, Carrie enjoys putting her creative skills to use, by nurturing the needs of the residents through planned daily activities. These range from art and exercise classes, shopping trips, planned outings and events, musical performances, themed parties and community gatherings. No stranger to nutrition, you may find her over a juicer, grinding up a concoction of carrot and beet juice for residents to sample. You may also find her incognito as “The Tooth Fairy” with wings and wand in hand, at a themed Happy Hour. Wherever she may be, she is sure to be enjoying the company and charismatic personalities of the senior residents at The Villas at Canterfield.
